General Overview

Our home has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and can comfortably sleep 8. It's a very spacious home with lots of living area. We're on the leafy upper north shore of Sydney, only 5 minutes walk from Warrawee station which will take you in to the centre of the city in about 35 minutes.

The Space

Our home is two storey with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (incl 1 ensuite) upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs. Downstairs there is one full bathroom and a separate toilet in the laundry. We have a formal lounge room, dining room and the "big back room" with a casual living area and new kitchen. It's very spacious, comfortable and quiet. We've not long completed a covered alfresco eating area (main photo of our profile now). It's completely enclosed but can be opened up on two sides. It has a TV, a BBQ, a couple of decks and a spa for 6. It also has a fish pond with gold fish, perfect for relaxing! We're animal lovers and you'd be most welcome to bring your small doggo.

Notes

Our home is not well set up for infants. While both the pond and spa are legal, they aren't enclosed and I'd be concerned about having toddlers around or small children who could lift the spa lid.

Neighbourhood

Warrawee is a leafy suburb on Sydney's upper North Shore. It is close to Wahroonga village and walking distance to Turramurra and Warrawee train stations. This is a beautiful quiet neighbourhood.

Getting to my home

If arriving by road, from the north we are only about 2km from the exit to M1 freeway. Leave the freeway and turn left onto the Pacific Highway, then left into Cherry St. Brentwood Avenue is on your left. If heading north, turn right into Turramurra Avenue and then left into Brentwood Ave. By rail, Warrawee Station is the closest (500m). At the top of the stairs, turn left onto the bridge and then right as you exit the station on Warrawee Ave. About 100m down, you'll come to a path that continues down the side of the railway corridor. Walk down there and you'll come to Brentwood Ave.

Nearest airport

Sydney Airport is 34km from home, 35 mins in really good traffic or over an hour in bad traffic. If arriving in peak hour, take the train and change at Central for the T9 Northern line.

Getting Around

The train station is only 500m away and it's 30 mins into the centre of Sydney direct. Chatswood is 15 minutes, Hornsby is 6 minutes. Trains leave every 15 minutes. We have a car available which you'd be most welcome to use. It's about 30 minutes to the beach.

Drew

After a decade as a wildlife assistant, Liz Martin resigned this week from volunteering with WIRES, demoralized by what she sees as a head office war against its own members. Wildlife cages at his home in northwest Sydney have provided shelter for more than 400 possums and gliders over the years. They are now empty, and five ring-tailed possums that have recently returned to the wild will be the last group to breed.
