Neighbourhood

In our neighbourhood, you will find our local bakeries, a neighbourhood market and amenities (post office, library, hairdressers, etc). The village has 2 beaches, both walking distance from home. We are 5 minutes away from Yvoire, where you have hotels with wonderful pool and spa services, and many, many, many wonderful restaurants. We have 2 favourite patisseries and chocolaterie in the next villages. The Saturday and Sunday markets in the area are wonderful for cheeses, fresh produce and oysters in winter! We have 2 beaches within walking distance, one with a snack bar and paddle board/canoe rental. Our lives revolve around the nature (swimming in the lake, skiing, hiking, cycling, etc...) and food (REALLY good without the Parisian prices). We have our bread lady, fish guy, cheese cooperative and a long list of wonderful restaurants (by the lake or not), happy to share! Closest skiing is 45 minutes away, and in an hour, the Portes du Soleil area (Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz).

Geneva airport- 50 minutes away

Getting Around

The closest airport is Geneva airport. The nearby train stations are : France (Bons en Chablais, Thonon les Bains), Switzerland (Geneva Cornavin). In town, walking and cycling to shops, lakeside beaches and the next villages. Walking trail alongside the lake down the street, to end up in Nernier or Yvoire for coffee or crepes. Local bus runs from our village to all the surrounding villages (even to Geneva!). A car is recommended and convenient to venture further afield to discover Swiss of French villages. We are 50 minutes from the airport, serviced by the train or bus. The Geneva Train station is accessible by bus. In France, there is a service of BlaBla cars to get around or car rental at the airport. By Ferry, the closest port is Nernier, Yvoire, then Thonon. Day trips are plenty, either Swiss or French side within an hour or 2. We have ferries (it's really a very scenic ride on the lake) that crosses the lake to Nyon and Lausanne (20 minutes+) , and Geneva train station goes everywhere.
